Speaker 1:

Have you been living in a God in the box mentality, where you go to church on Sunday, take out an X box, put it back in the box and go do your business, life and relationships again? Or does everything function in God's economy where you can effortlessly see God as your employer? Your number one goal is to show up well and authentically. If you do that every day, that will shift your mindset and your expectations, because now you're expecting to show up well.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to the Y2 Fitness podcast. I'm your host, aaron O'Connell, and today I am joined with my friend, bridget Hom, who is a business and life coach and owner of Bridge to Freedom Coaching. How are you doing today, bridget?

Speaker 1:

Fantastic.

Speaker 2:

I love you. I'm grateful to be here today.

Speaker 1:

Whenever anyone says how are you doing?

Speaker 2:

Grateful to be here. It's a great thing because then you can talk about gratitude. You can start talking. So many people are like ugh, just going through the grind another day when you can talk about thankfulness. It's just amazing.

Speaker 1:

I always say sell yourself something positive. You're going to buy whatever you sell yourself anyway in terms of what you're thinking, why not make it positive?

Speaker 2:

Amen. The reason I wanted you to be on this podcast today is I wanted to talk about the concept of God being our employer and you being a business coach. I thought who better than to bring Bridget back on onto the show, because you already came and talked to our entire entrepreneur class at church? I loved what you said and just give yourself a little bit of a background of how you started Bridge to Freedom Coaching, what it's all about and just a little bit about like like toot your horn a little bit my horn.

Speaker 1:

You know that might be hard for me to do, I'm just kidding. Well, here's what happened. Honestly, I started Bridge to Freedom Coaching out of my love for mentorship. I mean, truthfully, I've always been in ministry in some capacity. I was in music ministry, peer ministry, campus ministry. If it ended in ministry, I was in it and actually my first job out of college was like campus minister for three secular universities and then went on to an interesting. I got married, had three boys, lived a pretty interesting life traveling the world for about 10 years and then had some moments of contrast, ended up on my way to getting divorced, and so I remember actually I'm going to, I'm going to quote my mom and dad were going through therapy and you know, like every marriage has its issues. I was heard they said marriage makes you wholly not happy all the time.

Speaker 1:

And I remember her psychologist saying you know, Patty, you can divorce John when you become the best version of Patty you could become, and I took that to heart. That resurfaced in my mind. It was probably a God moment. And so I pursued getting certified in coaching, and that's that's really where a bridge to freedom coaching kind of started. I was on this pursuit of personal development to make myself the best version of myself. But then, well, it manifested into a business and I'm sure we'll talk a little bit more about that as we go on.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Well, it manifested you can keep going and manifested into a business. You said it was during COVID, right.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, which I now call the reinvention evolution.

Speaker 2:

Which is true, because everyone that was working in offices now are working remote and schools rethink things. A lot of different stuff is different, for sure.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, and I was actually on January 2020,. I had just moved out of my big, beautiful home. I was on my way to getting zoom divorced. Then virtual school happened for my three young boys. I'm in a new apartment and I have to figure out well, how am I going to make money? Because I was also working part-time in the seniors industry and you can be a senior citizen at that time and, yeah, it was kind of like a perfect storm. What next? God?

Speaker 1:

Was my question, and that's honestly been my question my whole life what next God? Since I started developing that personal relationship with God when I was a teenager. But that was what next? And then I got a random Zoom business networking link. Did you know what a Zoom link was during COVID or before COVID?

Speaker 2:

Right around that time is probably when I started realizing it. Like I think there was Skype. I think I knew of but I didn't really know. Zoom. I don't know when it really came about, but I knew a little bit about Skype but wasn't using it too much Because I myself started my coaching and all that stuff in my program and the different, many versions that's already became right during COVID as well. I transitioned from personal training in the gym 10 years to then all of a sudden I'm not allowed to be in the gym. So what do I do here? I created a program.

Speaker 1:

See, it was the evolution. It was a light business evolution time period for us, and literally. So what happened next? I got this Zoom link and I'll tell you a little more detail that I usually do. I figured out what it was because I was actually really perplexed. I'm like, oh my God, I registered. Where do I show up for this? I showed up on a Thursday morning at 8 AM and this gentleman, brian, who's a dear friend to this day, goes Bridget home, give your 30 seconds. And I'm like, dang it. He mispronounced my last name. What am I supposed to say? And what came out? It was so interesting because in the seniors industry I had been successful in some capacity. I had made some yeah.

Speaker 1:

And in Bridget your Freedom Coaching, I had had two real clients, one practice client, I think, at the time. So I'm like what do I pitch? And it's like God made that decision for me and I just had Bridget Hom here. Bridget your Freedom Coaching, are you ready to level up? Okay, what? Honestly, I had six clients within six weeks.

Speaker 2:

Wow.

Speaker 1:

My 90-day Finder Freedom program was born, my self-paced programs were born, group sales trainings, live speaking engagements and the best-selling book stuck on ready. Because of the virtual world, I was able to successfully launch a coaching business to six figures during the hours of 8 am and 2 pm and influence thousands and personally coach hundreds. Wow, it was a pretty wild journey. I definitely wish I could have said it was out of motivation that I launched it, but it absolutely was. Having no other option, god put me in a corner and said I'm going to give you exactly what you need in front of you. That's the story.

Speaker 2:

I love that, because your whole mindset behind things was what's next God? You were really living out Psalms 24-1, which is the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein. You're acknowledging God, the Creator, but you're challenging that worldly mindset of self-sufficiency and highlighting your dependence on God. So many times people think they need so much credentials, so many things and to be all set in place in order to have that launch pad, when we are really dependent on God, which you were already showing. What next God? He came and put those words in your mouth.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, trust me, God keeps me. It's like I have a bowling ball going down a lane and God just puts the bumpers in there. So I'm on the right path. That is how I feel, like my whole life has been.

Speaker 2:

I love that which leads us right into that mindset. I would love you, for you to discuss the importance of aligning our career choices, or our businesses and decisions, with God's will. Just having that whole mindset behind of God is our employer.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to reference when I was 20, god called me into getting sober. I'm actually a recovered alcoholic for 18 years. This year it actually says in the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous having a new employer. And so I shifted that into God is my employer. And then through that God consciousness, through working the 12 steps, through having a community that expressed radical self-acceptance so that I could continue to grow, having everything function in God's economy, just became a part of who I was Based on. Everybody else saying listen God first. Everything else, everything you're struggling with, is a spiritual malady, especially alcoholism. But then you look at everything else the seven deadly sins.

Speaker 1:

So, one of the prayers that Recovery gave me that I've actually shared with other people. It's kind of embarrassing. My first mentor told me to share this prayer, but the prayer is God, I offer myself to the to build with me and do with me as you will. And then it goes on and she had me say repeat after me God, who is not Bridget? I offer myself to the to build with me and do with me as you will. And so, after saying that prayer, so many, it makes it easy to put God first in every scenario, relationship, situation, and so whenever I look at circumstances or environments or relationships, my first thought has always been all right, god, what are you showing me? What am I supposed to be? How am I supposed to be showing up? Have you prompted me to do anything about this? Yet I'm not saying I've made all my decisions perfect, because I'm a beautiful person.

Speaker 2:

We are.

Speaker 1:

So but I really worked hard to try to navigate things with God versus the oh crap moments afterwards, Like God just spoke to me which I used to say a lot of those prayers like the full prayers you know, like when you go to battle. It's like, please, god, if you get me out of this alive, then I will do this, for you. So I kind of started to develop this God consciousness like Paul had in scripture. Paul didn't have the scriptures to reference. Well, he had you at that time, I think.

Speaker 2:

Well, yeah, yeah, he had the Old Testament type four deal.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but for the sake. But it was mostly the Holy Spirit directing his every move.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And so it's like, did the Holy Spirit depreciate over time? No, the Holy Spirit is just as alive and well now. So I really find as fuel for my spirit to keep going and to keep inspiring and empowering the people who I work with, my relationships, my children, my mom life, etc.

Speaker 2:

I love that and I actually chuckled. And I liked because you said God who is not Bridget, because so many times people say I submit to God, I like I submit. You know, they go to church, they understand as Christians, ok, god, you're the leader of my life, all that stuff. But the moment they get into a different area that isn't directly related to ministry or their walk, their, their, their devotions, so like in fitness or even in business, it's like God, you are the leader of my life. And then all of a sudden they turn to fitness or they turn to business and it's like OK, what do I need to do? What do? What do I need to do? How should I do this? What are other people doing? What is the best worldly way of things?

Speaker 2:

And they take that tree of knowledge, thought pattern and they start applying it and it's like well, what about God? What about Proverbs? Three, five through six, trust and Lord, with all your heart, lean, not on your own understanding. All your ways, submit to him and he will make your path straight. Like, what about that? It's like, well, what? Well, it's my business? Like, well, yeah, he's just as equally as important there, if not even more important. Because let's be real, how much of our time is spent in business?

Speaker 1:

Oh, a ton and you know. But it's a process to integrate God into your life. It's an intentional process. I used to run in the off season of basketball. I would run to this chapel every day. It was two, two miles there and two miles back. And so I said God, I'm going to date you for six months. I don't know any other way to relate to you. I really like dating, so I'm going to date you for six months and, of course, I learned the process of the heart process.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know, I learned that when I find God, I find myself.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And so I started talking to God and telling him all these things, and then some days I just leave him like I don't want to sit with you, I don't have time for this, and then I'd spend the whole run back, two miles back, apologizing for how rude I was. I would. It was very much a real human relationship because, I don't know, I can't bring a non human to the relationship with God. So I just brought my humanness to God and so after a while I ran out of things to say and I'm like hey, do you want to say something to you? I'm ready to listen. No, I'm not. I'm terrified of what you're gonna say. Right and so developed. It's like working out honestly that that spiritual ear is like a muscle and you have to exercise that muscle, which we're we're not taught how to do.

Speaker 1:

We have to pursue that Working out right you don't just actually, you know, my husband tells me all the time hey, if you don't work out you, we're not gonna get in shape.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you. Use it or lose it.

Speaker 1:

Thanks. I know it'll work out tomorrow. No, I've actually worked out, but he's diligent about that. He is so diligent about that because he understands the result right. So once we practice that spiritual muscle and growing it, we start to see the result of that relationship with God in front of us. So we don't spend the time To invest in growing that muscle.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I, I love that. I love that and I would love for you to speak to somebody that's in business, whether they're working for themselves, but more, more or less the person that's in a job that they're not really content with. They're there, they're they're they're working for an employer. That is mean, that is abusive, you know those types of things. How can that type of person start making God their employer? Like, what would be the mindset for that person right there to start walking through?

Speaker 2:

Because, as entrepreneurs, you and I both kind of get it. We're in control of everything. When we fail, it's our fault and when we succeed, it's our faults. When we have read me to wall, it's because we didn't figure out the solution. But there's a lot of people in business that they hit the wall because there's literally walls there, there is. There is men in front of them, women in front of them, saying you don't get to go any further, you're not allowed to do that. So what would be the mindset for those types of people that you would encourage them to do to make God their employer, when they have an employer that kind of stinks or is holding them back?

Speaker 1:

Well, first of all, grow the spiritual muscle. You know I've been exercise. Actually it was given to me by a friend. It's called the 11 minutes with God exercise.

Speaker 1:

Okay and you set a timer, because the brain can only focus on one thing at a time. I tell all my entrepreneurs this, and Then you write out a question to God, and then you wait for the answer, and then write out the answer and Repeat this process for 11 minutes. So start to cultivate that muscle because, like I said you know, become the best version of yourself before you make any big moves.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's what I would say. If you're in a, if you're in a career or a job right now where you feel like you can't hit that Self-actualization should I talk about an entrepreneurship right, we're totally being the best version of ourself emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and physically Then work to do that, apart from your job, and then God will make a way out. To ask God to provide a way out and make it clear, you know, I tell God, use your spiritual crowbar. I'm spiritually dense like.

Speaker 1:

Like, show me very clearly and he has Every single time. Sometimes I feel like we're afraid to ask God for what we want, because here's the thing he knows our desires of our heart, like it says in scripture, more than we do. Yes, you know, it's funny, I actually I'll share a personal story about this.

Speaker 2:

Yes, please do I.

Speaker 1:

So I got remarried. I met my husband in zoom business networking.

Speaker 2:

Thank God for zoom.

Speaker 1:

What is?

Speaker 2:

yeah, right.

Speaker 1:

I feel like a zoom hallmark commercial right.

Speaker 2:

I met my husband, I started my business.

Speaker 1:

It's so cool.

Speaker 2:

I love it.

Speaker 1:

I remember, um, I Was really torn up. He doesn't. He didn't have any kids of his own. So he used to tell people like they're like you're gonna marry a woman with three boys and he's like, yeah, I get to raise three boys to become men Bridget's just the bonus. And he used to tell people and so he didn't have any children of his own, he had dogs. And you know, I was. I'm kind of I was kind of torn up in my headspace about like, should we have a child together?

Speaker 1:

And it was really messing with me. And so I did the 11 minutes with God exercise and this is God's response God's ways are not our ways. So I said, am I supposed to have a baby? That's literally what I said. And God goes I will only give you what brings you joy, not the response that we would expect. So what I want to encourage you in listening that your expectations of what you think God is going to do or say, or how he's going to move in your life, you're wrong. You're wrong, dead wrong. He is going to move in a way that is even better than you can absolutely imagine. That comes down to that trust muscle. Right, trust is a muscle too, but it's that God hasn't failed me yet, and I've gone through a lot of different changes and transformations, but he's been constant with surprising me for the better.

Speaker 2:

I love that so much because so often when people pray, they forget the part to let God speak. They're like, oh, I read the Bible, that's how he speaks to me. Yes, he's one of the main ways. Yes, he also can speak through others. Yes, but I learned the prayer. My prayer is pray where you praise God first, then you request, yeah, praise, request and then ask. Or you know, ask, no, no, praise, repent, that what it is. Praise and then repent, ask and then yield, and you yield to him where you actually sit there and listen, because so many times, like if I were to be on a conversation with you and I'm like, hey, bridget, how's it going? Oh, it's going good, oh, great, well, I love this about you and I'd like this and take what happened over here, cool, and I really want this to happen. Okay, cool, gotta go Bye. You're going to be sitting there going like okay, that wasn't a conversation I just got spoken at purple diarrhea.

Speaker 1:

I did it to God for a long time, so I understand most people do it.

Speaker 2:

But that yielding part, that time where you just sit there in quietness and just yield that's why the prophets would go out to the wilderness is to be able to get away from the noise and hear God. And that, right there, takes that practice. It really takes that practice to be able to. You're not going to hear something the first time you're going. You know you may hear something that might be the devil speaking a little lie into you, but as you start doing it over and over again and searching, you really then can be able to learn how to be grateful in all the situations, because God's going to give you that spoken word, he's going to give you that thought and that made, like you said, be completely different from what you're searching for, but is exactly what you need and you know.

Speaker 2:

That's why I love Philippians 4, 11 through 13, where it's like, hey, I know what it's need to be a need, I know what it's need to have plenty, how to go hungry, how to have plenty or in want. Why? Because I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength. So for that person I would say as well that going through that wanting period, that needing period is like hey, god wants to teach you in this period of need, just as much. You know to be gratified, be grateful, find your strength in that great, in that, in those valleys, because then, when you, that's what's going to propel you to that top.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, you actually reminded me of my middle son, james will sit at the table breakfast table and just talk and talk and talk and then all of a sudden he'll realize he's hungry. And that's what happens to us in our prayer life. I mean, I'm literally like James sit down, stop talking, you have to eat for five minutes straight. But that's what happens in our relationships. We're not satisfied, walk around as Christians and Christian business owners, dissatisfied because we don't eat. We are constantly talking, talking at God and then expecting to, to be full with God, right. But then we end up being full of ourselves, full of our expectations, full of our desires, full of whatever it is. And like James, I'm like James five minutes, just eat your food, right. If we, if we just listen and and really pause with a purpose we will live with a satisfied faith because God will speak to us Amen.

Speaker 2:

Amen. I'd like to actually dive in just a little bit deeper to the practical application of making God our, our, our employer, and I'd like you to like, almost stress, the importance of maintaining integrity and excellence in our work, no matter where you're at, no matter where where you are, whether it's your entrepreneur, whether you're at the top of the top, where a lot of people like to start drifting away from that excellence because you're ready there, you made it, you know they start getting lazy or they're under, they're in a situation where they're just a paper pusher or a secretary and they're like well, everything I do goes unnoticed, so why do anything good? I would love for you to speak that importance of maintaining integrity and excellence in our work.

Speaker 1:

So if you're trying to live up to people's expectations, you're always going to find yourself dissatisfied, because it's a, it's a, that's a way of doing business at a codependent setting and you know when you're feeling out of your mind, you're definitely in somebody else's. You're in somebody else's, you're definitely out of your own mind. And so when you, when you spend five minutes in the morning to listen to God and to journal with God, I even do a two minute brain dump right, dear God, and empty my headspace out, and then I ended in gratitude and, yeah, just to, let's do two minutes start small.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it starts with measurable goals. Yes.

Speaker 1:

And and you know, when you compare you always lose, like that's another phrase that comes to me. But your number one goal is to show up well and authentically. If you do that every day, that will shift your mindset and your expectations, because now you're expecting to show up well, expecting anybody else's behaviors or circumstances to change. You are focused solely on you showing up well and authentically. Then you make your number two goal to empower the person in front of you, no matter what empowerment means to give someone the authority or power to do something I also say to be something. So, in a state of empowerment and you're focused on how you're showing up, you will find that it's easy to not live under the influence of circumstances, environment, situations. You won't take the bait, as I like to say, of laziness, pride, lust, envy, sloth, greed, gluttony, anger seven deadly sins just right.

Speaker 1:

You will not take the bait as easily because you've developed that God consciousness in the morning. You've already said God, you can. I want you to be my business partner. That means I want to invite you to every conversation. I want to invite you into every interaction. Before I make big decisions, I'm going to pause and I'm going to consult you, and so it's that listening, but then making sure that you are in your lane and exactly what you are supposed to be doing to show up well, no matter what, no one else's expectations except God's and your own for how you could show up well.

Speaker 2:

Yes, it reminds me of Colossians 3, 23,. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for human masters, and we have to look at it things of like wait a minute, god sees us when the employers aren't around. We need to maintain those ethical standards and doing our best job, because even in scripture it says he who does well with love, little even more will be given. And so often people said, oh, I'm just going to do the least amount I possibly have to to maintain this. It's like well, that's why you're stuck, you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and that's why we're dissatisfied, because we weren't. We were meant to run the race to win.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Like a lot of times, we don't give ourselves permission to be great and to do great things.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then what balances that out, that ego out for us? Is that all right, god's above me in this. So you know practical ways I do tide, I tide 10%. Everything I pay myself every Friday.

Speaker 2:

Just real things yeah.

Speaker 1:

I tide and in that action I thank God because God sends me clients. But I do the work at the same time. Like let's not say like I just sit here and on Zoom and be like, oh God, send me clients. No, absolutely not. I work extremely hard. You know they say, work harder not, or smarter, not harder. You have to work harder and smarter.

Speaker 1:

So strategy is definitely a part of it, but the mindset, first and foremost for me is that I'm like all right, god, I'm going to do my absolute best in every scenario. I'm going to work to serve with everything that I am and all of the strategies that you have given me, and that's it. And then you take care of the rest. I actually have a strategy that I gave to a client yesterday. It's called you write all of the things you feel overwhelmed about and then you do two lists an in your control list and an out of your control list, and then, with the out of your control list, if you're a Christian, you cross it out of the control and put in God's control, and then you provide action steps to the what's in your control list, because without action, well, nothing gets done.

Speaker 2:

I love that. I love that. That is a great practical tip, just for anyone you know, just to be able to put those things down and say what do I need to pay a focus to, or what am I? There's a lot of people pay attention to the results, but we're just in the business of obedience. We need to be obedient and take care of and do the work of what we are meant to do. But so many people are like I'm just trying to get the results. I need to get the results. I need to get the results. I was like, no, that's God's, that's in his hands, but what are the things that possibly will result in results that you can be obedient to now? So I really like that.

Speaker 2:

And also I would love for you to talk to a little bit about how our employment can actually be a method to serve others, cause God didn't come down to be served. He came to be a servant to others. And Galatians, even 513, says my brothers and sisters were called to be free, but don't use your freedom to indulge your own flesh. Rather, serve one another and humbly in love for the entire laws fulfilled, in keeping one command Love your neighbor as yourself. How as in not only in entrepreneurship but how, in being just in your job, can we serve others? How can we use that as a platform to serve others?

Speaker 1:

Well, I would say it's always taking God's direction. You know, I have one of my clients was actually talking about how they went on this amazing retreat and they're like I'm ready to scream from the rooftops that I'm a Christian, my business is Christian, et cetera. And like everyone needs to know. And I said you could absolutely do that, pray about that, ask God if that's what he wants you to do, recorded a whole video right About it. I said but discern, is that what God wants you to do, or was that video for you to show yourself that that's where you're at? Was that more of a self-revelation? And I said truthfully and this is what I do, because all of the clients that I work with not all of them are Christian. So the truth is, you want to take it person to person. Ministry is person to person. So I said if you really want to make an impact, then with all of your clients. She has hundreds of clients. I said invite them, say would you like me to pray with you over you or not at all? And give them each the option, because Jesus always invites. So it's that kind of perception.

Speaker 1:

I don't pitch myself. I am not a Christian business life coach. I am a Christian who does business and life coaching, and so those ministry opportunities present themselves with God's initiative, not mine. Yeah, I just show up. I just show up and say what do you need, what do you want to talk about? And for people who do the program with me, the programs that I have, especially the one-on-one I say would you like a spiritual component to your program? And then I ask them are you a spiritual being having a human experience or are you a human being having a spiritual experience? Have you been living in a God in the box mentality, where you go to church on Sunday, take God out of the box, put Him back in the box and go do your business, life and relationships again? Or does everything function in God's economy where you can effortlessly see God as your employer? You check in God about your money life. You check in with God about your relationships. You check in with God what you're going to do next, and.

Speaker 1:

But then you take action, because God is all about action. If you look at the scriptures, god was always about here. This is the revelation. Now put it into action. And that's what I'm constantly speaking to everyone that I've ever worked with, or probably anyone I've ever met Like you have this amazing vision, this amazing idea. Where are you putting it into action? Yeah, that's the number one thing that we all struggle with. We get trapped in our headspaces and I always say you hire the wrong mental team, right? Or sometimes we take the spiritual bait that Satan knows to take and so it's like all right, pause of the purpose. Where do I need to take affirmative action so I could start getting those results? In my relationship with God or in my business growth? And where can I serve people more? Because I serve people with solutions. Every day I teach them how to sell. I say sales is serving us with solutions.

Speaker 1:

So, they can put food on their table, so their prospects and clients can access more and better.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And so it's a combination. Service looks different in every setting. My husband maybe it's serving in a quietness, like not talking. I try not to talk to him before he eats something in the evening. It's better that way. But there's a couple of great resources on relationships. I'll eventually do a relationship course. Don'ts for wives and don'ts for husbands Written in 1913 on Amazon hilarious.

Speaker 2:

I can only imagine on that one how politically incorrect that probably is, which is perfect.

Speaker 1:

But Totally politically incorrect. However, if you read it, if you're a girlfriend or a boyfriend, if you read it to your significant other, guarantee your boyfriend's gonna be like, oh my gosh, would you please do this?

Speaker 2:

I bet.

Speaker 1:

This is the truth and vice versa. So there's some things that, regardless of cultural shifts, some things will always be true for us as men and women.

Speaker 2:

Amen, that's for sure. I'd like to use this opportunity just to shift gears just a little bit towards this, where we're gonna be nearing towards the end of our time, of just the importance of having just a community of you know, not only supportive Christian communities, but for our own selves, but also like mentors and accountability for those that are trying to take it to the next level. I'd love for you to speak to the necessity of that.

Speaker 1:

So true. You know, I have always had mentors and coaches to help me get to that next level because, you know, sometimes I can't get out of my own headspace or I can't see clearly, but like when people work with me, I can see clearly for them that path ahead of them. I so encourage people when they wanna get to that next level same with, like the Olympians they have coaches to teach them the strategy to get them to that next level mindset, that accountability.

Speaker 1:

God created us to be like that, wherever two or more are gathered and they're a part of them, and so he created us to be in relationship and community. So I mean, I love, I'm a part of three different communities. Christian every church movement. I've been working there for a long time and then journey church and then I go to St Ignatius as well. So I'm a Catholic Christian, but what I find is I need that constant encouragement and it's a tradition to see that I'm not alone on this journey in business or life.

Speaker 1:

And so you know, Satan's never one goal bait that he sells us is that oh just, you could do this alone. You can do this alone. You could launch your business alone. You could do. No, I've never done anything alone.

Speaker 2:

Bye.

Speaker 1:

Ever. God's always with me, but he's always sent people along the journey. So, if you feel like you're alone right now, ask God to show you the people that he's sent to walk alongside you, because he definitely has. And if you feel like they're not there, say make it very clear, send me people to walk alongside me right now, to encourage, inspire me to continue on this journey.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and Hebrews 10, 24 through 25, highlights it perfectly. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together as the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and the more you see the day drawing near because it's so important to provide that encouragement and guidance for those that are strong. Where we're weak, we're the body of Christ. You're going to be strong in so many areas, but then you're weak. You're in that nice Christian community. If you have those brothers and sisters around you, that's when you get encouraged, because the devil's roaming around looking for someone to devour, not people to devour, it's not plural, it's someone.

Speaker 2:

When we are by ourselves, when we're alone, thinking we can do it by ourselves. That's why it's, it's that's why he loves us being cut off from that community and thinking we can do it ourselves. So he can just start whispering those lies he's the fathers of lies of you can't do this, oh, you should do it this way, oh, you can cut that corner. We need to have that community. But also, like you said, a mentor is so important. Iron sharpens iron, you know so as one person sharpens another proverbs 2717, and that's where you can come in and truly help someone and take them to the next level which I'd like for you to talk about. What is that process of? If somebody wants to come and meet with you, have you help them? How can they come and find you? How can they, how can they get help from you? What does that look like?

Speaker 1:

Well, anyone is invited to a direction session.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

We work together or not. I have to figure out what are you wanting to pursue in your business growth, and if I can help you, I'll absolutely offer one of my programs. But it starts with, first of all, just getting together. My calendar link is everywhere. On LinkedIn it says book an appointment. Bridgethomme is my calendar link because business growth and self-actualization, personal development, always starts with self-awareness, so that then we can get to self-direction and then manifestation, which manifestation just simply means your conscious mind, your subconscious mind and your actions are in alignment, and so complete alignment. You are always aware of your next direction, you know how to make empowered decisions to get to your destination of, I say, your future, successful self. And so that is really the goal for any entrepreneur, business owner or coach or consultant that comes in front of me for direction. That is my number one goal for you To never be confused again about how to grow your business, sales, branding, marketing, mindset, social media, but also, if you are a Christian, how to have God as your employer at the same time.

Speaker 2:

And you can also find you at BridgetHomcom, correct.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yep, that's my website.

Speaker 2:

Yep, so you can just go therecom. Bridgethomme is your calendar link, all that types of just to find so as a direction, and then from there you can point them to your different programs, whether it be one on one, whether it be a program, and you tailor it in there. And I love it that you also are working with Christians, because that's who's predominantly listening to this podcast, and I'm sure that you, during that time, pray for those people as well, which goes right off of 1 Timothy, 2, 1 to 2. First of all, then, I urge the petitions and prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be offered for everyone, and that's where it's so powerful as well, because then it's not just you coaching them as well. You're going and looking at the author of Life, saying, how Can I Help this Other Person as well, which I bet just amplifies the results. When someone comes to you as a Christian versus, you have to navigate that land.

Speaker 1:

Well, you know, I have no problem navigating it.

Speaker 1:

I love the people, that is always. People have always been my passion, but I will say, having someone to bounce ideas off of is so important and as a Christian, you know we fight that extra battle every single day. You know we're very well at spiritual battle, so if you want some insight into that, then we can absolutely meet and chat because you want to get that insight and then you want that strategy to level up for business growth and if you'd like to get my book for free I didn't even mention this, Aaron Oh- there you go, put it in.

Speaker 1:

Yeah right, Stuck on Readycom is my bestselling book. I hit bestseller in seven weeks on Amazon and you can access your copy for free at stuckonreadycom. It has some excellent business growth strategies emotional intelligence, practices to continue to create those empowered client interactions, social media suggestions everything I was actually told. Someone on LinkedIn posted every page. I just opened any page of your book, Bridget. I feel like I'm more connected to myself, and then I have a new strategy to practice for business growth that day.

Speaker 2:

I love that. I love that. Definitely will put that into the show notes as well. And we were able to discuss mindset today, practical application, community aspects, all of making God the employer. Is there anything else that you just want to leave the listener, anything that you just want to depart on them before we end?

Speaker 1:

I write this in all my books and I always say keep it simple. Take your number one goal to show up well and authentically right now. No matter where you're at, no matter what circumstances, environment, situations we all have the power of decision right now how we're going to show up. We all have 168 hours in a week. We all have the exact same amount of time and it's what you're going to do with that time. So decide right now to not live under the influence of any circumstances, environments, feelings aren't your friends. Right, and decide to show up well and authentically. And number two, write this down. I'm going to make my number one goal to empower the person in front of me with value, with something that will serve them in growth, in feeling better about their lives encouragement. I'll pray with them, something I'm always going to take action with the person in front of me to make their life better in some way.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I love that one. That's fantastic. Thank you so much for joining me. I feel like I just got a nice coaching session and I'm feeling a little on fire just to go work that much harder and that much more focused. Just talking to you, so I can only imagine what you can do for everyone that really gets to spend quality time with you, that goes through your programs and overall. I just want to say thank you for joining me on this podcast and I really pray that this hits the ears of those that are willing to change, wanting to change, but are stuck and they just send. They're able to come to you and be able to just glorify God through all that they do. Help you out, help them out so we can start transforming this world, to look a little bit more like the kingdom and tell God comes.

Speaker 1:

Amen.

Speaker 2:

Amen. Well, thank you again, and I hope you have a great rest of your week, bridget.

Speaker 1:

Hey, you too, erin, Thank you, thank you.
